Emma was introduced to Pilates 6 years ago as a way to strengthen her core muscles and reduce back and hip pain from an old injury made worse by many years working a desk job and raising two young children. Inspired by the common sense, scientific-based approach to improving posture, range of motion, strength and coordination, Emma was keen to further her knowledge so she certified as a Pilates Instructor with Polestar International. Having studied the Polestar Pilates Principles and Methodology, Emma has a particular interest in why postural and movement restrictions can occur and how to overcome them with quality exercise.
Emma helps her clients tune in to their own physical abilities to achieve stronger, leaner and more flexible bodies for optimal, pain-free performance. Emma’s training is suitable for all ages and levels of fitness and her clients can expect to apply what they learn during their Pilates session, to life outside the Pilates room. Corrective breathing, elongation of the spine, core-control and good organisation of the body during movement should be a part of daily life.
As Joseph Pilates said, “Be in control of your body and not at its mercy!”
